In NYCP’s season finale, Paik completes the challenge with performance of BEETHOVEN’s dramatic Fifth (and last) piano concerto. Known as the EMPOROR Concerto, the piece begins with one of Beethoven’s most stunning opening movements, in which the piano envelopes the orchestra in blazing flourishes and musical fireworks. English composer DELIUS’ graceful TWO AQUARELLES open the program.
