NYCP Presents: Rethinking Schubert

  • Church of Heavenly Rest 2 East 90th Street New York, NY, 10128 United States (map)

CONCERT CYCLE 3

Franz Schubert’s enduring legacy as one of the most prolific and creative composers is the source of inspiration for New York Classical Player’s original new program, “Rethinking Schubert.”  Three works transform, magnify, and illuminate the artistry of Schubert through works for string orchestra. Rondo Brillant, originally scored for violin and piano and Schubert’s Death and the Maiden(String Quartet No. 14 in D minor), magnificently arranged by Gustav Mahler, are performed alongside the United State premiere of Dobrinka Tabakova’s 2013 Fantasy Homage to Schubert.
